Need Math Ideas for St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️

Hey friends,

St. Patrick’s Day is almost here, and it’s the perfect opportunity to bring a little magic into your math lessons! I’ve put together a few fun, themed activities to engage your students while practicing key skills.

St. Patrick’s Day Math Activities:

  1. Lucky Numbers: Create word problems around a pot of gold! Example: “If a leprechaun has 42 gold coins and shares them equally with 7 friends, how many coins does each get?”
  2. Probability Games: Use green items like shamrocks or candy to teach probability concepts.
  3. Coordinate Plane Clover: Have students plot points on a coordinate plane to create a shamrock design.

Featured Resource: Check out my St. Patrick’s Day Math Activities (Exponents, Percents and 7th and 8th grade review skills) for even more engaging ways to celebrate the holiday while reinforcing essential skills. Check them out here.

Quick Tip: Encourage your students to create their own St. Patrick’s Day math problems to share with classmates. It’s a great way to reinforce skills and build creativity!
